Judging Resources
Interested in judging at tournaments? Take a look at some of our judging resources.

What does a day of judging look like?
Once you're registered to judge, you’ll receive an email from Coach McMillan with all the details for that tournament—including your arrival time and location. You can either ride the bus with the team (space permitting) or drive separately.
You’ll need to activate your SpeechWire account to receive your judging assignments. Look for an email from SpeechWire to activate your account once you’re added to the judging pool.
A typical judging day runs from early morning until mid-afternoon, though the exact time varies by tournament.
What do you need to bring?
Bring a device (preferably a laptop) to access your SpeechWire account to view rounds and complete ballots. The more written feedback you provide, the better! You may also wish to bring a notepad or paper and pen/pencil to take notes, but only what is entered in SpeechWire will be viewable to competitors and coaches after the tournament.
Most tournaments offer a judge lounge with complimentary coffee, snacks, and lunch. If you have dietary restrictions, consider bringing your own food to ensure you have options.
